Yup, that's right. I've moved up in the world. Straight upstairs!
Adi and Delona found jobs in England and moved on March 13th. To my advantage, they left several pieces of furniture and appliances. I have also taken some of Tom and Robyn's furniture and now have a quite cozy little "nest" ~ if you will.
It all begins on the second floor with an enclosed foyer and the upward stairway. The main room is about 50' long and 10' wide. It is divided into a kitchen, computer/office space, living area, and bedroom. A good sized bathroom is off to the side. On both sides of the 50' wall is closet/storage space which extends out to where the A-frame roof meets the floor. I also have a balcony, which has an amazing view! God has blessed, and I'm happy to have "a place of my own".
L = {Bee-nay ahtz vay-neet} = Welcome!
R = One of my favorite decorations - it hangs in the stairwell. A crown of thorns (taken from a tree on the back hills) and Mark 15:17 in Romanian and English.
L = Pictures of family and friends decorate the lower foyer area.
R = Also in the foyer is a coat rack.
A full length mirror decorates the wall at the top of the stairs. Do you see me taking the picture in the mirror? *smile*
L = The kitchen as I found it on March 13th.
R = The kitchen now.
L = The sink, clothes hamper, and washing machine.
R = The bathtub/shower on the left, storage area on the right, and door to the balcony straight ahead.
Of course, there's a toilet, silly! I can sit on the throne and enjoy a good view over the balcony.
L = The office and living area, which contains a computer center and storage area, arm chair, rocking chair, sofa bed with lounger, 2 bookshelves of pictures, books, and keepsakes, 2 endtables, and a tv on a stand/DVD organizer.
R = The bedroom, complete with a full size bed and a fabulous view!
My balcony with the new furniture I purchased yesterday! Come on over and we'll have a spot of tea and enjoy the view ... oh, wait ... we're not in England. We'll have sarmale (a traditional Romanian food) and check out the neighbors ...
These would be the neighbors I previously mentioned ... turkeys and horses.
My first guests. "Robinini" (otherwise known as Mrs. Robyn), Corina, and Aurelia. It's just not right that a 21 year old is small enough to use a tote as a bathtub!
p.s. A BIG THANK YOU to Tom and Robyn (and Aurelia) for moving several heavy items up and down the steps. You guys are "da bom"!
