Last Saturday was a very fun day! Delona and I were invited to a lady's house to help her bake Christmas goodies. She does the bookkeeping for the ministry and Delona knows her very well. We spent the day in the kitchen where I learned how to use a hand-held non- electric mixer : of which I found that I don't have the arm strength to do. I also learned how to make flour and how to make sour cream and cheese from milk. We made 3 different goodies and it only took 8 hours! (I must admit - at one point in the day, I wished we had the cookies that you cut from the roll, put on a cookie sheet, and pop in the oven - although they wouldn't taste nearly as good!)
It was fun learning how to do everything from as scratch as you can get. I decided to call "the bookkeeper" "Granny" since she is like a grandma and we are in the country.
