Ready .... Set .... GO!

Wow ... I'm a blogger. (Never thought I'd say that!) I hope you find this spot helpful and beneficial to keeping up with what's going on here in Romania.

Since arriving at the first of August, God has blessed! He has provided me with wonderful friends, a beautiful home to stay in, witnessing souls saved, and opportunity to serve Him! I am very grateful that God allowed me to meet up with Tom and Robyn Isaacson. They have graciously opened their home and allowed me to come spend a year with them. Next fall, I will return to The States to continue raising support so that I may be here independently.

The Children's Home offers a time to show love, be loved, and learn the language. The kids like to sit and talk with me - even though I don't know what they're saying. They teach me words in Romanian - I teach them in English ... fair trade! I have also been able to start teaching Bible stories there. Delona Popa translates for me.

Another work of ministry is going to the dorm (see picture at left). Kids in high school and college alike stay here Monday thru Friday to attend school in the town. We were able to visit there thanks to a college girl from the Children's Home. Her roommates are all in 11th grade where they are studying English. They like for us to come and just talk with them. What an opportunity to share with them the love of Christ!

Speaking of sharing ... I'm learning new Romanian words everyday. Some days are good with my now 29-year-old brain ... and some days I can't remember my own name in Romanian (which is the same as English). :) Please pray that I will be able to learn quickly since this is a critical element to success.
